Being inspired by some articles at av-school.ru: "Writing a browser in C++" and "Writing a browser in C++. Part 2.", I decided to join to the authors and tell how to make own browser based on the "QtWebView" component. The WebKit engine (it was hiding under this name) is used in such browsers as Google Chrome and Safari. It is considered that exactly WebKit is the fastest open-source browser engine at the moment. In addition, this engine is cross-platform and that’s some advantage over the Microsoft's browser-based component. As you know, I try to pay as much attention to cross-platform technologies as possible.

In the previous post, I was asked how to create a program, which will be not only easily run on many platforms, but it could be easily compiled there as well. Preferably with minimal code changes. And better without any changes. This concept is called ‘Portability’. A developer able to reuse sources at different platforms.

No, no - I love "Heroes" TV series too, but today we talk about another eclipse. I can't say why Eclipse Foundation chose exactly this name. But it doesn't matter. It is tmportant that in November 2001, Borland, IBM, MERANT, QNX Software Systems, Rational Software, Red Hat, and SuSE founded a corporate consortium named Eclipse, and later, in early 2004, they reorganized it into a nonprofit organization - Eclipse Foundation.
